Two world class marimbists in the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps explore what “skill” means to them as they work through their 2024 competitive season. With a focus on how they receive, interpret, and respond to tactile, visual, and auditory cues from their own and others’ bodies and instruments, this film intends to highlight corporeality, embodiment, and attention as it depicts the nuance and intensity of sensory training these individuals undergo in preparation for a performance.
