I’m Lee not Emily.

What does it mean to inhabit a trans and disabled body while navigating the tangled terrain of queer polyamory, community care, and imagination? Set against the backdrop of a transphobic healthcare system and the rising tides of fascism in the UK, this ethnofiction draws deeply from Lee’s lived experiences. Through a dramatised narrative, the film follows Lee, as an abundance of love shared among partners begins to fracture under the weight of mental health struggles imposed by systemic neglect. In the wake of this turmoil, Lee makes the difficult decision to close his relationship with his nesting partner, Effy, an act of both heartbreak and self-preservation.

Blurring the boundaries of storytelling, the film readily weaves layers of fiction to reimagine the possibilities of queer intimacy, ending in Lee’s luminous, speculative vision of a future of polyamorous abundance.
